Rob, It is clear that you were the most negative person in Utah. The rest of us, are happy, and mentally stable. And to let you know.. Utah was the +1 state that was also listed most stable. You are arguing against a national survery. You and your negative opinions, and sad life, holds no ground over a largly studied, professional national survery... We also eat the most jello, Ice cream, have the prettiest girls in the nation (a large part of our happiness. hehe. ) beautiful scenery, a clean, safe state, with absolutly no real proverty filled cities. It is clear, you have no idea whats so ever about what comes out of your mouth.

Rob, it is very sad that you have lived all your life and continue to live in a place that you find so totally wretched. I, too, have lived here nearly all my life, as have my parents, grandparents and other relatives. I have met the happiest, kindest, most enthusiastic people every place I have lived or worked. Optimism runs rampant and sustains peoples hopes and faith during the most severe trials. It seems to me that being happy is a personal decision and your own bleak outlook and unhappiness must certainly color your view as you project it on others and the situations you find yourself in. Please look inward to discover the source of such negativity and if it turns out to be the state you live in, find somewhere more promising and encouraging where you can find happiness.

As I posted on US News, I've lived in Utah all my life and can honestly state that it is among the most unhappy and mentally unstable environments on earth. Here in Utah we boast the highest number of school drop outs, the highest prescription drug abuse, the highest number of meth labs, and the greatest internet porn use in the nation. I always say people's actions speak louder than their words. They may be taught to blithely report that they are happy and content, but watch how they drive and act towards each other on the road. These are not happy people at all, they are most miserable and mentally distressed. They hate their lives, and it shows in everything they do. How sad that nobody will face the truth and the media keeps buying into the mythology that keeps this hypocrisy alive.

Troy,
I agree with you. Looking about last night and this morning on my way to and from the office, I was almost overwhelmed by the beauty of springtime here in Southern Utah!

I'm not sure about the ENTIRE state of Utah - but here in Southern Utah it's the great weather, beautiful scenery and amazing golf courses that help keep us happy!

Also, Southern Utah is a great place for entrepreneurs to start a business and develop themselves because it is less chaotic than a big city and allows them to grow at their own pace.

Love the new blog!
